The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce welcomes information from members. We are pleased to add items submitted by members to our monthly printed newsletter as well as post them on our blog and include the information in our email blasts. Community Bank at 505 East Colorado Boulevard welcomes Chamber members to an Open House and Welcome Reception for Ron Samuelson on Thursday, April 29th at 5:00 p.m. Enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres and wine with friends as we welcome a new manager to Community Bank.

Historic First Lutheran Church hosts a Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, March 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the courtyard of the church at 808 North Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena.

Fuller Rheological Seminary hosts a jazz-fusion concert on Friday, March 26th at 8:00 p.m. top raise funds for the Dr. Warren Brown Scholarship Fund. Eugene Friesen (cellist), Tim Ray (pianist), Ted Moore (peercussion) and Doc Gibbs (percussion) perform with the Towne Singers at Pasadena Presbyterian Church. The Pasadena Public Library celebrates One City, One Story in March by encouraging everyone in Pasadena to read Alan Drew’s Gardens of Water. If you need a copy of the book, you can pick it up at Vroman’s or Borders Books. The Lamanda Park Branch of the Pasadena Public Library hosts Lip Reading and Memory Enhancement Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. at 140 South Altadena Drive in Pasadena.

Pasadena Museum of History storyteller Sunny Stevenson celebrates National Kite Month with children of all ages on April 14th at 10:30 p.m. at the San Rafael Branch of the Pasadena Public Library at 1240 Nithsdale Road in Pasadena.

Joyce Millikan of Working Faith is helping organize the 2010 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast which will take place on Thursday, May 6th from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Pasadena Hilton.  JPL Mars project leader Jennifer Trosper, twice recognized at the White House for her team’s work, is the keynote speaker.   Tickets are $25 each and can be reserved by calling 626-486-0691 or you can register online at www.workingfaith.com by May 1st
