"Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is Southern California's only independent, Catholic, day and boarding school for girls in grades 9-12. Renowned Southern California architect Myron Hunt designed the main buildings of the school as a luxury hotel in 1927; however, the resort, managed by Senator Frank P. Flint, ultimately failed. The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose purchased the former Flintridge Biltmore Hotel at auction in 1931 and thus established the school.
