At Stone Company Store Pasadena, we equally revere ALL Stone Brewing Co. beers, even the ones we have on draft 365 days a year, as they are all most definitely out-of-the-ordinary. With that said, occasionally we are able to offer full-on extraordinary beers, i.e., ones that are rare, one-off, vintage, barrel-aged, experimental, etc. Generally, we have one of these "specialty" draft beers come online every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a "specialty" bottle release every Sunday. Here's a small sample of the extraordinary beers headed our way in the coming weeks.

Tuesday, September 8
Stone w00tstout 2.0, our bourbon-kissed imperial stout brewed with wheat, rye, pecans, & stone-ground dark chocolate, comes back on tap today, for in-house pours & growler fills!
Friday, September 11
Stochasticity Project Your Father Smelt of Elderberries will be available on tap and in 22oz bottles. In addition to being amusing to comedy fans, this beer is a high-gravity English ale, brewed with rustic ingredients like flaked oats and, yes, elderberries.
Sunday, September 13
Our vintage bottle release will be very exciting today, as it’s 2012 Stone Imperial Russian Stout! One of Stone’s most eminently cellar-able beers, it is entering that “sweet spot” for aging, where you can really taste the positive effects of oxidation & change over time. Limit one bottle per customer.
Monday, September 14
Tonight at 7 PM, we host Stone Beer U: Pasadena - Intro to Beer, a cozy & casual discussion of beer fundamentals with Certified Cicerone® & long-time Pasadena Crew Member, Kendell. A limited number of tickets are still available in-store. $25 gets you five 4oz beer samples, artisan cheese & accoutrements, and all the Beer 101 you can handle!

2013 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine is on tap today, and, as with Sunday’s bottle release, it’s starting to exhibit some of the classic (and awesome) signs of beer aging, like mellowed bitterness, new malt-derived fruitiness, and reduced alcohol “heat.” Limit up to 2 liters per customer for growler fills.

It’s our birthday, ladies & gents! Stone Company Store Pasadena’s 3rd Anniversary Celebration kicks off today at 11 AM, featuring a huge selection of barrel-aged goodies, like Stone Cali-Belgique IPA aged in Reposado Tequila Barrels & Stone Barrel-Aged Brown Ale w/Montmorency Sour Cherries, some Quingenti Millilitre bottle re-releases, and 10 Barrel/Bluejacket/Stone Suede Imperial Porter, a fan-favorite 2013 Stone Collaboration brew!
