City Council will direct staff to move forward with .75¢ sales tax increase at Monday's meeting

The City Council will consider an item requesting that staff develop ballot measure language to increase the sales tax in Pasadena by 0.75¢ on Monday, January 29th at 6:30pm.

The measure would appear on the November ballot.

Also being considered is advisory language that would split the increase to give Pasadena Unified School District 0.25¢ of the increase.

The agenda item is available for you to read here: http://ww2.cityofpasadena.net/councilagendas/2018%20Agendas/Jan_29_18/AR%207.pdf

You can email the City Council at city_council@cityofpasadena.net and the city manager at smermell@cityofpasadena.net

The staff will have to return with language for the ballot measures and the City Council will have to take action to place it on the ballot.

The Pasadena Chamber has not taken a position on this, since it only was announced on Tuesday, however it is anticipated the Chamber's Legislative and Government Affairs Committee and the full Board will take it up in the near future.
