The holidays are here, and so are scammers-beware and be careful-even the Pasadena Chamber name is being used to try to fool you

Hello.

We are aware of several scams that are currently being foisted on our local businesses and residents.

We all need to be vigilant online. Recently, we have been contacted by Chamber members who received an email identified as coming from the Pasadena Chamber with a link to download a document to sign. THIS IS A SCAM. Note the return email address is not an @pasadena-chamber.org address.

If you receive any emails that you are not expecting asking that you download attachments, click on links, send information or view attachments it is best to confirm with the sender that the email is legit before you do anything. 

If you are in doub, do not click.

Recent common scams include: phone calls demanding payment to prevent water or electric service shut off, and unscheduled home visits from scammers posing as PWP contractors offering home energy audit services. We want you to know that PWP never accepts payment over the phone and PWP would never visit your home without a scheduled appointment and proper identification. If you are unsure, end the call or do not let them enter your home. Call PWP Customer Service to confirm at 626.744.4005.
