Dear Owner or Manager,

My name is Nicole Pesqueira and I am the Fire Inspector assigned to the Pasadena Fire Department’s Assembly Occupancy Inspection Program. The California Fire Code defines an assembly as, “The gathering together of 50 or more persons for such purposes as deliberation, education, instruction, worship, entertainment, amusement, drinking, dining or awaiting transportation.” You are receiving this letter because your business is classified by the California Fire Code as an Assembly Occupancy; and to notify you that I will be conducting an annual fire and life safety inspection of your business this year.  Please see the included pre-inspection checklist that has been prepared as a courtesy to help you to identify common fire hazards (not all possible hazards) and to correct them prior to your inspection.

Following your initial inspection, and once all identified deficiencies have been corrected, you will be issued an Assembly Permit. This permit is issued by the Fire Department and is valid for 12-months following the date of issuance. Per the City of Pasadena fee schedule (http://www.ci.pasadena.ca.us/Finance/Fees_and_Tax_Schedules/), California Fire Code Sections: 105.6.34 & 113, and Pasadena Municipal Code Section: 1.30.030, you will be invoiced for the inspection, subsequent re-inspections, and applicable permit processing fees. Please direct any questions you may have regarding this letter as well as inspection scheduling requests to Inspector Nicole Pesqueira at (626) 744-7068 or via e-mail at npesqueira@cityofpasadena.net.  It is sincerely hoped that this checklist will aid you with ensuring the continued safety of your business.  Thank you for your effort in making the City of Pasadena a safer place to live and work.

Sincerely,

Nicole Pesqueira

Fire Inspector
