Ideal Youth summer intern program in partnership with the LA Clippers and MVP Title Sponsor Chick-fil A East Colorado Blvd., are hosting the 2018 City of Pasadena “NBA Experience” celebrating youth internship awareness, a fundraising event held on Thursday, January 4th at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center.

Courtesy of Pasadena Media, the event will be streamed live as Ideal Youth event participants create fan tunnels on court to High-Five players as they come out of the locker room before the LA Clippers take on the Oklahoma Thunder. Event sponsors, VIP guests and dignitaries will be networking in a private reception taking place in a luxury suite sponsored by Chick-fil-A and Cabrera’s Mexican Cuisine.

Ideal Youth event ticketholders will have special access to enter Staples Center prior to the general public and watch the teams during their pre-game shoot-a-round and warm-up. Pasadena Mayor Tornek, Pasadena councilmember Tyron Hampton and Adobe Gwacham will toss game Tee-shirts to those in attendance. Additional fan experiences include; on-court recognition of the Ideal Youth students and event sponsors, on-court post game free-throws and up to 12 local children will stand with Clippers players as the National Anthem is performed pregame.

Ideal Youth has selected the following honorees for their support of youth internships and youth job opportunities; Councilmember Tyrone Hampton, Pasadena Operating Company, PUSD School District Board Member, Michelle Richardson-Bailey and John Muir High School Educator and KJLH radio personality, Roland Bynum.

Honoree, Councilmember Hampton expresses his gratitude, “I’m humbled to be honored by Ideal Youth. The work we do as City Councilmembers is work that we do for the whole community, so for Ideal Youth to recognize that, with the great work that they do in the community, is humbling.”

Hundreds of people who also see the growing importance of promoting youth internships to counter unemployment, underemployment, and the growing number of young people who choose careers that do not make the most use of the students’ potential will be in attendance.

Adaobi Gwacham, owner of Chick-fil-A on East Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena expresses why she supports Ideal Youth, “It’s an opportunity to give back to the youth. Its part of my core, it’s something that I believe in and I would be remiss if I didn’t support. I’ve been able to gain employee team members from Ideal Youth and the partnership with the program has been great.”

Pasadena Mayor, Terry Tornek agrees with Ms. Gwacham, “I think that there are very few things that we can do in the community more important than trying to influence young people and get them engaged in a positive way with local businesses and Ideal Youths efforts in that regard have been noteworthy and successful and I certainly hope we can expand them.”

The event Title Sponsor is Chick-fil-A East Colorado Blvd., VIP Reception Dining Sponsor is Cabrera’s Mexican Cuisine, and other event sponsors are; City of Pasadena, Tournament of Roses, Pasadena Education Foundation, Paseo Colorado, Unyque Financial, F&M Business Center, KA Consulting, Pasadena Center Operating Company, PAASE, Pasadena Human Services and Recreation Department, Thorson Buick, Kidsville USA, El Portal Restaurant, Pasadena Media, Pasadena Now, Beacon Media News, Gary Wheeler, Capital Group, and Dr. Allen.
