Minimum wage, sales tax rates in Pasadena, Los Angeles and LA County rose July 1st

INFO ALERT: Pasadena, LA and LA County Minimum Wage increases July 1

 

On July 1, the City of Pasadena, Los Angeles and LA County’s minimum wage increased. Below is a breakdown of changes that you could be required to meet, as well as resources to help.

The local minimum wage will go to:

  • Increases to $12 for employers w/ 26 or more employees
  • Increases to $10.50 for employers with 25 or fewer employees

Employee  counts in Pasadena make no distinction between full-time and part-time employee.

Also Effective July 1, 2017, the sales and use tax rate for Pasadena will increase from the current rate of 8.75% to 9.25%. The .5% tax increase was approved by California voters in November 2016 (Measure M) and applies to the county of Los Angeles, including all cities and unincorporated areas.
