Pasadena Closures for Christmas and New Year

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce offices will close at 1pm on December 24th and reopen on December 26th. We will also close at 1pm on December 31st and reopen for business on January 2nd.

CHRISTMAS 2013 AND NEW YEAR’S 2014 CLOSURES & REMINDERS FOR PASADENA

Pasadena City Hall and most City services will be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2013 and New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2014.  Specific closures and exceptions are noted below.

Pasadena Fire and Police Departments will continue to be staffed during the holidays for all patrol, jail, fire, paramedic and other emergency services.  For any life-threatening emergencies, please remember to call 9-1-1.  Remember: “If You See Something, Say Something.”

Pasadena residents and businesses with any power emergencies should call the Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) Department at (626) 744-4673 and for water-related emergencies call (626) 744-4138.  PWP’s regular Customer Service Call Center will be closed for the holidays, but customers can still pay their bills by phone at (626) 744-4005 or on the Web at www.PWPweb.com.  The City’s Municipal Services Payment Center at City Hall will be closed both holidays.

The Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau’s “Visitor Hotline” at (877) 793-9911 provides parade and bowl game information from Dec. 30 to Jan. 6, 2014.  The Hotline hours are: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 30-31; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 1-3; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 4-5; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 6.

Refuse and recycling collection for Wednesday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, will be delayed by one day.  All other routes will be serviced per schedule.

On Dec. 25, the City’s Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS) and Dial-A-Ride programs will not operate, but will resume regular service on Thursday, Dec. 26.  All parking meters are free and time limits will not be enforced on Christmas Day.  All parking meter enforcement will resume on Dec. 26. 

On Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, the ARTS buses and Dial-A-Ride programs also will not be in operation, but will resume regular service on Thursday, Jan. 2.  All parking meters will be free on Jan. 1 and time limits will not be enforced. Parking meter enforcement will resume on Jan. 2.  Red curb violations and blocking fire hydrants will be enforced on both holidays.

Please play strict attention to all temporary “No Parking” signs posted in conjunction with the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl.  Vehicles violating parking restrictions will be towed at owners’ expense, no exceptions.  Public Access street closure maps related to the parade and bowl games are posted online at http://www.cityofpasadena.net/Rose_Bowl_and_Rose_Parade_2014/.

All branches of the Pasadena Public Library, including the Central Library, will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.  The libraries also will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.  The Linda Vista and San Rafael branches also will be closed Jan. 6.

All Community Centers operated by the City’s Human Services and Recreation Department will be closed, except for Winter Camps which are by reservation only, from Dec. 23 to Dec. 27.  They will open for a half day on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, but will be closed on Jan. 1.  The centers will resume normal hours again on Jan. 2.  All parks will be open for picnics, fun and play, but no site reservations are accepted for the holidays.
