Request from member Learning Works Charter School for volunteers and donations

Dear members of the Chamber of Commerce,

If you’re not familiar with Learning Works Charter School, we are chartered through Pasadena Unified School District and primarily cater to dropouts. Our population has experienced conditions that have impeded their ability to focus on school: poverty, pregnancy, legal issues, homelessness, etc. We try to offer services that can mitigate as many of these negatives as possible, so our students can earn their diploma. In many cases, we’re students’ last chance.

As another year concludes at our school, we have been given an opportunity for a campus beautification project. Over the summer a stained glass mosaic will be erected on our campus. I am asking at this time for any volunteers who would like to help with the project or for any monetary donations that would help us with the cost. This project will be completed during the summer and help our students feel like they are on a traditional campus. Any help in either area will be greatly appreciated.
