Families Forward Learning Center, formerly known as Mothers’ Club, is a non-profit organization that provides free education and social services to low-income families in Pasadena and Altadena with children from birth to five years old. All of our services are based on a two-generation learning model that empowers both parents and children to gain knowledge and skills that improve outcomes for the whole family. Our primary objectives are to ensure that children in our program are safe, healthy, and on-track developmentally, and to enhance parents’ skills, literacy, and self-sufficiency so that they can be active participants and advocates for their children’s education. Learning programs are offered during either a morning or afternoon session, Monday-Friday, and include early childhood education, parent education, adult education, mental health support, and leadership training.

Young & Healthy, a Pasadena-based 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1990 to provide comprehensive health care to low-income school children throughout greater Pasadena who lack or have inadequate health insurance. Young & Healthy maintains a network of 350 physicians, dentists, mental health and other professional health providers who volunteer their services to the program. Our in-house case management staff members provide client screening and follow-up services and act as advocate-liaisons between clients and the medical laboratories, pharmacies, hospitals and other agencies necessary to a child’s treatment. Over 260 active community volunteers support Young & Healthy through the provision of countless programmatic, organizational and fundraising tasks.

Young & Healthy offers a broad array of health services, including Medical Care, Pharmacy and Laboratory, Dental Care, Mental Health Care, Access to care – Insurance Outreach, and Health Education.

Since 1990, we have provided donated professional services valued at nearly $19,927,307 to over 4,000 local children in need. Young & Healthy’ s impact over a twenty-six-year period sends a strong message to the entire community and beyond: In Pasadena, every child matters.
