Amtrak San Joaquins is now Gold Runner
In November Amtrak San Joaquins fully rebranded to Gold Runner. Gold Runner continues to provide the same routes, schedules,
and connections you’re familiar with, linking communities' access to central California and Bakersfield to Sacramento, Bay Area and beyond. Only the name has changed, the service and stations remain the same.
7th Daily Round Trip Reinstated on Gold Runner: Gold Runner restored its 7th daily round trip on December 8th marking the first time since early 2020 that the corridor will run its full pre-pandemic schedule. The restored trip expands travel options for riders moving between Bakersfield, the San Joaquin Valley, and Sacramento. This return gives riders more ways to visit family, reach major destinations, and plan trips around the existing late-night 11:35 p.m. Sacramento arrival and early-morning 6:26 a.m. Sacramento departure. There is an additional northbound train that arrives at 8:58 a.m. and a southbound departure at 8:40 p.m. at the Fresno Station. Visit https://goldrunner.com/7th-daily-trip/ for more info.
SJRRC Hires New CEO: The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission(SJRRC) has appointed Chris Orlando as its new Chief Executive Officer. SJRRC is the managing agency of the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA) which oversees the Gold Runner intercity.
